MaMoni Maternal and Newborn Care Strengthening Project (MNCSP), is a prominent initiative of USAID, under its health program in Bangladesh. The study was a part of the project to support piloting Social Accountability (SA) interventions in the Public Health Facilities at Ward, Union, Upazilla, and District level. The SA Model covered six (6) categories of Health Facilities, i.e., District Hospital, Maternal and Child Welfare Center, Upazila Health Complex, Mother & Child Welfare Centre, Union Health & Family Welfare Centre, and Community Clinic. For each category of the facilities, it explored and determined the appropriate Tools for all the 3 types of SA mechanisms, i.e., Information, Accountability & Integrity, and Participatory Development.

November 2018 to March 2019 was the study period. The qualitative research adapted a number of methods for collection, analysis, and validation of required information. These include a review of relevant regulatory instruments of the country and learning documents from different parts of the world, KIIs with the high officials of GoB, consultation with respective Facility Management/QI Committees, and Observation from the learning visits at Noakhali, and Tangail.
