End Water Poverty and its partners commissioned a global study covering 30 countries (including Bangladesh) on the accountability mechanisms through which national governments are accountable on progress toward achieving the water and sanitation-related SDGs. As part of the initiative, IRC commissioned and Team Harmony accomplished the Bangladesh Part of the study between November to December 2017.

The study identified and described Water and Sanitation related existing national accountability mechanisms in Bangladesh, assessed their potentials and limitations, and identified good practices and lessons learned on the effectiveness of the mechanisms. The country-level study followed the methodological guidance that had been applied commonly to other countries as well. Desk Research, Online Survey, Semi-Structured Interviews, and expert consultation were the methods used for the collection and triangulation of the required information.
