In a significant collaborative effort, Harmony Trust partnered with the Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) of Bangladesh to conduct a holistic health and wellness workshop on June 7, 2024. Held at the Bangladesh YWCA Bhaban in Mohammadpur, Dhaka, the workshop attracted young women leaders and officials from all 13 YWCA branches nationwide, and representatives of students, teachers, and senior management from the YWCA Junior Girls High School. The participating branches are Barishal, Birishiri (Netrokona), Chandpur, Chattogram, Cumilla, Dhaka, Dinajpur, Gopalganj, Jashore, Khagrachari, Khulna, Pabna, and Savar (Dhaka).
This event was part of Harmony’s month-long celebration of the International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2024, aligning with this year’s IDY theme, “Yoga for Women Empowerment”. Focusing on the unique health needs of adolescent and young women, the workshop provided valuable insights into physical, cognitive, and emotional wellness.
Participants engaged in a series of interactive sessions that included presentations, discussions, and demonstrations of WHO-recognized techniques such as yoga, breathing exercises, reflexology, and lifestyle modifications. These activities were expertly facilitated by Team HARMONY, led by the coordinator of the Health Care Program.
The event was inaugurated by senior management from both organizations, including the National General Secretary and Assistant General Secretary of the YWCA, alongside the Chief Executive Officer of Harmony Trust.
Through this collaborative effort, Harmony Trust and YWCA Bangladesh continue to empower adolescents and young women by providing them with the tools and knowledge to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.
