On February 22, 2025, Harmony Trust successfully conducted a training session on Breast Self-Examination at Sterling Creation Limited’s Head Office in Zirabo, Ashulia. This initiative focused on empowering marginalized women by equipping them with essential knowledge and practical skills to build resilience against breast cancer.

A dedicated group of 28 female garments workers from various departments actively participated in the session. Under the expert guidance of Syeda Shahida Sultana Elora, Coordinator of the Healthcare Program at Harmony Trust, participants delved into the physiological and psychological risk factors associated with breast cancer. The training emphasized the importance and correct techniques of Breast Self-Examination, outlined the clinical management pathway of the disease, and introduced holistic approaches—including yoga and lifestyle modifications—to mitigate key risk factors such as stress and hormonal imbalance.
The session not only enhanced awareness but also fostered a sense of confidence among the participants, empowering them to further disseminate the acquired knowledge within their communities. This step is pivotal in the ongoing effort to promote health education and resilience among vulnerable groups.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Shobujer Ovijan Foundation for their valuable collaboration in organizing the event, and to MANGO & EDUCO Bangladesh for their generous sponsorship. Their support was instrumental in making this initiative a success.
This event marks a significant stride in Harmony Trust’s commitment to advancing health and well-being through informed, community-driven initiatives.
