Harmony Trust, in collaboration with Sabujer Abhijan Foundation, conducted a Breast Self-Examination (BSE) training for 30 youth leaders from Kallyanpur and Mohakhali in Adabor, Dhaka.
At 2:30 PM, the session brought together 30 youth leaders to strengthen their knowledge and practical skills in breast cancer awareness, early recognition of warning signs, and healthy lifestyle practices.
Building Knowledge and Practical Skills in Breast Self-Examination
The training focused on the importance of breast health awareness, recognizing normal breast changes, and identifying potential warning signs that require medical evaluation. Participants received practical, hands-on guidance on the technique of breast self-examination (BSE), equipping them with essential knowledge to support informed health practices and encourage timely consultation with qualified healthcare professionals when unusual changes are noticed.
The session also explored modifiable breast cancer risk factors and highlighted the importance of healthy lifestyle choices in risk mitigation. Yoga was introduced as a supportive wellness practice to promote physical activity, stress management, and overall well-being. Participants engaged in practical yoga exercises to gain first-hand experience of these techniques.

Empowering Youth to Promote Community Health
Youth leaders can serve as important agents of change by sharing reliable health information and encouraging positive health practices among their families and communities. By strengthening their knowledge and practical skills, this initiative seeks to build community capacity for breast health awareness, promote early recognition of potential warning signs, and encourage timely access to appropriate healthcare services.
Through this collaborative initiative, Harmony Trust reaffirm the commitment to advancing community-based health awareness, preventive healthcare, and youth-led action for healthier communities.
From Awareness to Empowerment, from Empowerment to Change—Building a Healthier and More Informed Society.
