Develop a Service Directory for ‘Child Protection Systems Strengthening in Cox’s Bazar’ project

August 22, 2022

The mapping covered the child protection services available in Sadar and Ukhia Upazila of Cox’s Bazar District. Considering both public and private sectors, it emphasized health, mental health & psycho-social supports, education, legal aid, and shelter support for the children at Ward, Union, Upazilla, Municipality, and District levels. For each sub/sector, the exercise identified the existing service providers and captured information regarding the quality, types, location, accessibility, contact info, delivery time, and cost of the services. The study also indicated a pathway to the child protection actors for referral services for the children.

The assignment was commissioned under a project of Save the Children International and its partner Breaking The Silence, titled “Child Protection Systems Strengthening in Cox’s Bazar”. A twenty-one (21) member team of Harmony conducted the mapping and developed the directory from February to March 2022. Desk Research, Expert Consultation, Interview, Spot Visit, and Observation were the methods used for Data Collection and Validation. Altogether 332 points of the services under 18 categories were brought into the Directory Published.
