Final Evaluation of the Project: Building a Compassionate Community in Bangladesh Working Towards Universal Health Coverage

The project of Worldwide Hospice Palliative Care Alliance is popularly known as ‘Compassionate Narayanganj’. The project was supported through a Community Partnership grant from UK Aid Direct. The Department of Palliative Medicine of the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), Dhaka implemented the project in Narayanganj City Corporation with the aim to develop an innovative community home-based palliative care service towards an improved quality of life for the poorest. 

Team Harmony evaluated the project from May to June 2021. The study made a systematic and objective assessment of the design, implementation, and results of the project. It determined the relevance and fulfillment of objectives, efficiency, effectiveness, cost-effectiveness, processes, and sustainability. Methodologies included document review and interview with project staff, beneficiaries, and other stakeholders.
