Launching of the E-library of Yoga and Naturopathy

January 27, 2021

‘’The E-Library of yoga & Naturopathy can make a significant contribution to securing Universal Health Coverage’’ – said speakers at the launching event of the first-ever Digital Library of Yoga & Naturopathy in the world.

Under the overburdened health system of the country, sole dependency on Allopathy cannot ensure universal coverage of health. Achieving that would require an integrative and pluralistic approach to healthcare, where Yoga & Naturopathy can find their place. That recognition would require open access of the professionals to a global knowledge hub containing reliable books, research reports and articles.

The online event took place from 3:30 PM to 5:15 PM on 27th January on the official FB Page of Harmony Trust. The library was inaugurated by Dr. H R Nagendra, the Chancellor of the Yoga University S-VYASA, India. Ms. Aroma Dutta, the honourable Member of Parliament, Bangladesh was the chief guest of the event, where a number of reputed personalities from Europe, India and Bangladesh were there in the guest list.

The other guests were Mr. Peter Merchand, Yoga Master & Tantric Healer, Belgium;  Mr. Sumanta Naag, Yoga Teacher of S-VYASA, India; Professor Dr. Subhagata Chowdhury, the former Principal of Chittagong Medical College; Md. Shah Alam, DIG (Railway), Bangladesh Police; and Mr. Riad Imam Mahmud, Country Director, Max Foundation, Bangladesh & Nepal.

The event was presided over by public health expert Dr. Muhammod Abdus Sabur, who is an adjunct faculty in the Institute of Health Economics of the University of Dhaka and is also the chairperson of Harmony Trust. Mr. Amitabha Bhattacharjee, the CEO of Harmony Trust delivered the welcoming speech at the event.
